Coaching for Accountants

Whether you are in practice or industry, i’m sure you want to be the best version of yourself.  And if you have L&D objectives, included will be that your teams and the individuals making up those teams should be provided the opportunity to perform at their best.

Coaching does that.

What is included in coaching for accountants?

Well that depends on you.  What are your objectives?  There is not a one size fits all. Coaching could be one session to help reframe a particular issue, or it can be a comprehensive coaching program to adapt to a new promotion, accumulate a particular set of skills, adjust to a challenge at work etc etc.

Coaching is an excellent environment in which to provide a sounding board for the coachee, a place to reflect and become a better version of themselves.

Do you understand the world of accountants and accounting?

Great question.  Whilst in general it is not necessary to understand the area of expertise of the person being coached, in this instance it is worth noting that Ian Kaye the lead coach at Accountants Who Lead is a very experienced accountant as well as being very well qualified to coach accountants.

How will a coaching session for an accountant run?

In essence every coaching session is a conversation.  The coach will lead the conversation and the accountant in the session will have time to reflect.  Pending the challenge there are a lot of tools and techniques that can be used to help the process along.  All of them are aimed at helping you achieve your aims of the coaching session(s).

In a coaching program you will invariably be provided opportunities to progress even more with tasks to be completed between coaching sessions that you may want to call home play.
